@VCat2006 The rest of the EU does not have to cut spending because they are lenting money to Greece. They do it because they also run deficits. They were all affected by the banking crisis it was just that Greece was more vulnerable at the time. The loan is joint EU/IMF. Each country will just lent a tiny part of its GDP at 5% or so rate

@sailorkostas Greece may be the 30th largest economy but Turkey is the 17th and will be among the top 10 by 2050. With population decline being experienced in Greece and the rest of the E.U these economies will continue to shrink in the future & nothing can be done about this except perhaps get rid of corruption. Modern day Turkey of which 43 percent is under the age of 30 can bail out the European Union alone due their massive buying power.
